Premium B have won this year’s Knockout Cup after a thrilling match against Wingies Warriors.
Premium started strong with Ian getting a relatively easy 2-0 win over Paul, who just couldn’t get his doubles. Gareth had a nervous 2-1 win over Les and Joe completed the triumph with a 2-0 victory over Nick, resulting in a comfortable 6-1 lead.
Rafe did something back for the Wingies with a solid 2-0 over Kia, but George brought the difference back to 5 points, beating Lesley 2-0 as well.
Dirk won 2-1 over Neil in the lat game before the break, making the difference 4 points, with three doubles left to play.
After the break, Wingies got more and more fanatic, resulting in a 2-0 win of Les and Paul over Joe and Neil, making the score 7-9. Dirk and Rafe made the sensation complete by winning 2-0 from Kia and Ian, resulting in a 9-9 score, with only one more double to play. What a comeback!
The final, decisive double was played between Lesley and Ray from Wingies Warriors and George and Gareth from Premium B. This match however was an easy 2-0 win for the Premium B team, making Premium B the succesful Cup defender after their win last year.
